Destination Gotland

Destination Gotland AB, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rederi AB Gotland, was formed in 1997 with the aim of bidding for services to and from Gotland and since 1998 Gotland services have been run by Destination Gotland on behalf of the Swedish state. The current agreement runs until 31 January 2017. In April 2014 Destination Gotland concluded a new agreement with the Swedish Transports Administration with regard to the Gotland service for the period 1 February 2017  to 31 January 2027.

The ferry services comprise one of Europe’s most modern sea traffic systems, comprising four high-speed ships. Every year Destination Gotland transports approximately 1.6 million passengers, 485,000 cars and 740,000 metres of cargo. In the summer season there are up to 18 departures a day. Destination Gotland has approximately 400 employees and headquarters in Visby.

Destination Gotland has an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001, and we are actively striving to reduce the vessels’ impact on the environment. All of the vessels’ engines have catalytic exhaust emission control devices and run on low-sulphur fuel.
