Hansa Destinations operates a cargo and passenger ferry service from Sweden’s Mälardalen region to continental Europe. The route runs between Nynäshamn and Rostock, with occasional stops in Visby.
Launched in August 2021, this operation allows goods to be switched from land to sea transport, an eco-friendlier alternative that is supported by the Swedish Government in the form of an ‘eco-bonus’. Shipping is a cost-effective option that delivers greater flexibility and efficiency for many hauliers. The service provides a unique opportunity to transport goods by sea that would otherwise have to be driven the long way round, potentially shifting 75,000 trucks from land to sea each year.
